Renovo

corporate overview

Renovo is a biopharmaceutical product company and a leader in the discovery and development of drugs to improve the appearance of scars and enhance wound healing. Renovo has a particular focus on scarring in the skin, this being a high-value market of significant unmet medical need. Renovo aims to be the first to the market with a pharmaceutical drug in the US and Europe to reduce the appearance of scars.

Renovo’s pipeline includes four products in clinical development, each with different novel mechanisms of action. The Group’s lead drug, Juvista®, for the improvement of the appearance of scars in the skin is currently in a Phase 3 trial to support the European application for market authorisation. This follows from a comprehensive Phase 1 and Phase 2 programme of clinical trials which have demonstrated, in approximately 1,500 subjects dosed to date, that Juvista is safe and has statistical and clinical efficacy in improving scar appearance when used in the appropriate dose and dosing regimen. The Phase 2 programme has provided much learning which Renovo has incorporated into the design and execution of its first pivotal EU Phase 3 efficacy trial so as to increase the chances of a positive outcome. This trial is on schedule to report in H1 2011.

Adaprev is being developed as a medical device for the reduction of adhesions (scars) and improvement of tendon function in patients undergoing surgical repair of lacerated flexor tendons in the hand. The first clinical trial commenced in November 2009 and is scheduled to report in H1 2011.

Prevascar®, a pharmaceutical drug for the reduction of skin scarring has already reported a significant Phase 2 trial and will commence an additional trial in Q2 2010.

Juvidex® has reported statistically significant data in accelerating wound healing and improving the appearance of the skin and will be partnered as a cosmetic ingredient.

RP57 is a lead pre-clinical drug candidate to stimulate tissue regeneration.
